Last March 16th Mimcord attended a technical session about biodegradable mulching which had been organized by the UdL (University of Lleida) and which took place at Vilanova de l’Aguda.
During the course of the day and by means of a mechanical mulching layer, Ramon Barnaus and Esther Morgó from farm holding “l’Hort de Cal Castell” showed the attendees how to correctly apply biodegradable plastic mulch and Mimcord paper mulch. Professor Lluís Martín-Closas (UdL), pointed out that paper mulch lets rain water pass through, it is more resistant to weed piercing and it biodegrades faster than plastic mulches.
