Our paper products are sustainable from start to finish, wherever they may be applied, owing to their natural, renewable and recyclable nature.
They are also sustainable to the very end, due to its recyclable nature, which is unique, since cellulose fibres can be recycled and recovered more than 8 times, giving so many lives to our threads and ropes.
They are sustainable from the beginning, due to its natural contribution to putting a brake on climate change. One kilo of our yarns and cords represents the capture of 1.3 kilos of biogenic CO2 from the environment, thanks to the carbon dioxide sink effect of specific forest plantations for manufacturing paper that are continually regenerated and replanted.
Our paper threads and cords are a clear example of the circular economy taken to its maximum expression.
They present a double circularity; on the one hand, the natural one, owing to the renewable nature of the raw material, the virgin cellulose fibre, which is obtained from European paper forests managed responsibly and with forestry certification, and on the other hand the social one, emerging as a result of the massive recycling of paper mill products, thus obtaining the recycled cellulose fibre.
We are bi-circular to distinctly respond to the demands of our time.
First of all, our forest certification certifies that the management of the forest area from which the wood is obtained to make the paper to then produce our yarns and cords meets all the sustainability criteria, covering the forest inventory, management planning, forestry, utilization, as well as the ecological, economic and social impact of the forestry activities carried out in that area.
Next, when the certified wood enters the industrial process, the chain of custody from the forest to the paper mill and the transformation in our factory is controlled and certified.
All our products follow the forestry and chain of custody certification programs of the “Forest Stewardship Council” (FSC) and the “Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification” (PEFC).
We are witnessing the worrying consequences of environmental pollution caused by various materials in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, and how this negatively affects both flora and fauna, in addition to hindering the development of countries.
It is worth noting that it cannot be said that a material is inherently good, and that the responsibility for its contamination falls solely on those who do not use it properly or do not dispose of it correctly.
As far as our threads and cords are concerned, they are biodegradable because they are made out of cellulose fibres. This means that, if they were accidentally left in nature, they would decompose naturally over a period of 4 to 6 months, leaving no harmful residues for the environment.
However, it is essential to promote responsible practices when it comes to these products usage and disposal. The natural life end of our paper yarns and cords is their recovery through recyclability.
