Last October 19th representatives of Mimcord attended the technical session about biodegradable mulching in artichoke agriculture, which was organized by the UdL (University of Lleida) and took place at Mas de La Vall plantation in Benifallet.
The mulching technique has been used for many years in vegetable farming across Catalonia, as it is advantageous from a technical, economic and environmental point of view.
In this on-farm session, Mr. Josep Mestres from Mas de La Vall country estate, where splendid organic crops are produced, explained that he always uses biodegradable mulch and that paper mulching is particularly effective when dealing with nut grass weed.
