A bag communicates before anyone even opens it. It does so through its paper, colour, shape, print and every element that defines its presence.
But there is a moment when that communication stops being purely visual: when a hand takes hold of the handles.
That is when design becomes experience.
Paper cord may appear to be a small component, but it carries an important responsibility. It must support the weight, keep the bag balanced, feel comfortable and provide confidence throughout the entire journey.
When it performs well, it almost disappears. It does not ask for attention, yet it helps the bag feel solid, carefully made and coherent. When it fails to perform, the perceived value of the entire package can be diminished.
A handle, therefore, is not simply the final element added to a bag. It is the point of contact between the brand and the person carrying it.
Behind an apparently simple paper cord lies a high degree of industrial precision. Diameter consistency, twist, strength, texture, colour and performance during handle production must all remain reliable. Every bag, application and design concept requires the right response.
Functionality, however, is only part of the story.
The handle also contributes to the visual identity of the bag. It can blend naturally into the overall design, create contrast or reinforce the material character of paper. In every case, it should follow the same logic as the rest of the packaging.
At Mimcord, we do not see paper cord as a final accessory. We see it as the place where design meets use, where quality is put to the test and where the brand literally reaches the consumer’s hand.
Because sometimes, the smallest detail is the one that carries the most.
