On 18 October, we celebrate the ninth edition of European Paper Bag Day. This year, under the motto CARRY THE CHANGE!, the campaign reminds us that a paper bag is much more than a way to carry a purchase. It also represents the shift towards a more circular bioeconomy, more sustainable retail and solutions increasingly aligned with what consumers value.
At Mimcord, this message has a special meaning. Because change is carried by the handles too.
When someone picks up a paper bag, they probably do not think about all the elements that make this everyday gesture possible. Yet behind every bag there are materials, technology, industrial expertise and specialised companies contributing to its performance.
The paper cords for twisted handles manufactured by Mimcord are part of this value chain. Their role is essential: helping ensure that paper bags can be held, carried comfortably and used with confidence.
And this functionality begins long before the bag reaches the retailer. Cord consistency, strength and, especially, machineability are fundamental factors in achieving efficient integration into paper bag manufacturers’ industrial production processes.
That is why our contribution to a more circular economy brings together two inseparable dimensions: working with paper, a raw material from a renewable source, and developing products that meet the demands of industrial manufacturing.
European Paper Bag Day is an opportunity to recognise the value of this entire chain. From paper manufacturers to bag producers, retailers and consumers. And also companies such as Mimcord, which manufacture components that contribute to the performance of the finished product.
To celebrate this occasion, we have joined the European campaign with a Catalan-language video adaptation expressing a shared commitment.
WE CARRY THE CHANGE.
Because change is not just something we talk about. It is also something we manufacture, share and carry every day.
